Sudhanva Deshpande is a theatre director, actor, author and editor whose practice connects live performance, cinema and publishing. A member of Jana Natya Manch since 1987, he has worked extensively in street theatre and co-directed films about Habib Tanvir and Naya Theatre. His books include Halla Bol: The Death and Life of Safdar Hashmi, and he has taught at the National Institute of Design and Jamia Millia Islamia’s AJK Mass Communication Research Centre. His screen credits include Jawan and Love, Sitara, alongside a sustained engagement with writing and the cultural life of Indian theatre.
